What is event deduplication?

Event deduplication is how Meta and Pinterest keep one copy when the same conversion arrives from the browser pixel and the server.

READ INPortuguêsEspañol

Event deduplication merges the browser and server copies of the same event into one. Meta does it when both carry the same event_name and event id and arrive within 48 hours of each other. Without it, a purchase sent both ways is counted twice.

For purchases, the order id is the safest event id: every copy of the same order produces the same value.
